We are a BHS ‘Where to Train’ centre and promote continuous professional development for our own staff and students. We have a central ethos of learning in an enjoyable environment and all our staff are encouraged to continue studying and taking examinations.
Borlum is a wonderful place to come to train, whether on a long term or short term basis.
Our chief instructor is Pauline Corker BHSII, RDA Senior Instructor, and we also have regular visits from Stephen Cruickshanks and Erik MacKechnie.
We are delighted to be bringing the opportunity of taking BHS exams to this part of the Highlands, and indeed with flight links improving all the time from London, Leeds, Newcastle, Belfast and Dublin, this opportunity is open to you wherever you live.
Our last exam was the BHS Stage One on Thursday 26th March 2009, which was full. Previous candidates have found it invaluable to spend some time with us in preparation for this exam.
We also host British Equestrian Tourism Exams, subject to demand, with a minimum of six required. This can be a fast track into BHS Stage exams as the Ride Leader gives direct entry to Stage 3 riding or Stage 4 care. Contact Pauline for information on 01456 450220.
We regularly host BHS Riding and Road Safety exams, as this is a requirement for the BET exam and BHS Stage 2. You can get further details from the BHS on www.bhs.org.uk. Specific R&RS training will also be offered.
Freelance instructor, Rhoda McVey BA BHSAI (rgd) BETRL UKCC2, also trains for the Equine Specific First Aid Course and there is a course at Drumnadrochit Village Hall in October 2009. Details from www.bhsscoland.org.uk.
